Does a Spanish mobile plan work in the UK and the rest of Europe?
A GetInternet.es mobile plan works across the EU plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein at no extra cost, under the EU fair-use rules. The UK is outside that zone, so roaming there is charged by zone according to the roaming price list.
- EU, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein: your plan works as at home, provided roaming use does not exceed home use for more than 3 months.
- UK, Switzerland and other countries outside the zone: roaming is charged by zone. The prices are in the roaming price list on the mobile page.
- USA: 2G/3G networks are switched off there, so data and SMS work but voice calls do not.
If you mostly need to call the UK from Spain rather than use your phone in the UK, an international plan with 1,000 minutes a month to the UK and 56 countries in total is usually the better fit.
